just because we thought it was really cool, we have registered PHOTOGRAPHSOF.ME - at the moment the domain is just redirecting here to djpphotography.com - any ideas of what we should do with it? we have a few, but we'd love to hear from you too.
2008 is pregnant with expectation.

happy new year! thought we'd share with you our first shoot of 2008. we took these wonderful pictures back at the start of January of an amazing first time mother to be. we had so much fun, and i'm so happy with the pictures that i think it needs to become a new tradition: the first shoot of a new year needs to be of a pregnant mum with a new life about to begin! anyway check them out here.

we've been busy getting through a mountain of work here at djp HQ and we're attempting to get it all online for you to look at it!
after a great family sitting down at Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach i managed to shoot some of the wonderful currumbin nippers. here's a link to the shots.

things are quite crazy here at djp head quarters at the moment... in the midst of all the craziness we managed to take part in the southport nursing home's first ever funday. we had a good time cooking ourselves in the sun and meeting lots of young dancers. the centre's Amy & Kylie did a great job organizing this first time event. thanks for asking us to be a part of it!

long time no post, sorry all. benita and i are moving at the moment. we are moving our home, family & business' from the suburbs of parkwood on the gold coast to the hustle and bustle of north street southport. we are right in the middle of moving now and it is going well, and all who have done the big move before knows the joys, sorrows & craziness that goes along with it...

at the parenting expo i took pictures. i mean, i am a photographer - i take pictures, it's what i do. so at the expo there was some gorgeous kids, some funny kids, some cute bubs, some kids with attitude! and when i got a chance i asked mum & the child and took their picture....
i then gave out one of my "you've been shot" cards. {more about them later}.
and then - wow! we've had quite a few emails and a couple of phone calls from mums who wanted to know when the shots i took at the expo would be online.
well they are!

phew! what a massive weekend!
we had a blast talking to all the fantastic mums, dads & mothers to be. we had some fantastic conversations, we got some wonderful compliments on our work & we have some very keen mums who have booked in for shoots!

GC Parenting Expo Day 1

what a day! it was absolutely fantastic!
benita, kristy & myself had a great time meeting & talking to literally hundreds of parents & kids. i brought a camera with me {of course} and got to photograph some gorgeous children - the pictures will be up online soon. we have to be in the best spot at the expo, right near the petting farm which is the biggest hit with the kids.
i also wanted to give a big cheer to Sharmila of Byron Bay who was the first person to use the VIP sign up on the website! well done Sharmila, now you are in the running for that $500 gift voucher.
Day 2 - sunday 17th june - promises to be even bigger, better & busier! if you get a chance, come on down and say g'day.
The Expo Begins!

tomorrow begins the Gold Coast's Parenting Australia Expo. it's on this saturday & sunday, 16th & 17th June at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. It is shaping up to be a really fantastic show. We are at stand 47, opposite the "kindy petting farm"- we hope the animals won't smell too bad by the end of it! If you can make it, come on by and say g'day. We'll have some pictures of our stand online soon. It's shaping up nice.
We also have our friend Kristy D fly in this afternoon from sydney to help us over the weekend {and then hang out with us afterwards}. It is fantastic to have her on board for the big expo, she's a great person and one of my oldest friends {the only "fake aunty" we will let our boys have}.
In tomorrows entry, we'll let you know how day one went!
